Policy for Sustainable Environment and Ecology
Chapter I Our Purpose
Article 1 Shenzhen Yite Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Yite Holdings) and its subsidiaries [KAI PENG MINING SARLU in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), etc.] unswervingly abide by relevant environmental laws and regulations in their daily operations, and make sustainable efforts to improve environmental and ecological policies in production based on new technologies, new equipment, and new concepts, to minimize the impact of their business operations on the environment and ecology. For a long time, we have persisted in implementing ecological and environmental protection measures in our work and life, and progressively integrated them into the future strategic planning and specific management of the enterprise, contributing our strength to building a sustainable green homeland for mankind.
This policy is formulated for the purpose of conscientiously implementing the environmental protection policies, laws and regulations of the countries and places where the Group operates, adhering to the Scientific Outlook on Development that highlights "comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development", further strengthening environmental protection management, fully implementing the environmental protection accountability system, and preventing sudden environmental pollution accidents, in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and the United Nations Charter for Environment, in compliance with the principles of international environmental protection institutions and plans such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and with consideration of the actual environmental protection situation of the company.
Article 2 This policy shall apply to Shenzhen Yite Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries.
Chapter II Our Responsibilities
Article 3 All employees, contractors, and suppliers should first recognize and abide by the above-mentioned policies;
Article 4 Interested parties at all levels should support and participate in our environmental protection and ecological undertakings;
Article 5 We will apply a reliable and scientific risk management system to identify and evaluate environmental impacts;
Article 6 We will pursue energy efficiency, and use renewable energy and recycle materials where applicable;
Article 7 We will proactively examine the environment in the places of operation;
Article 8 In addition to the socio-economic benefits of resource development, we will also evaluate and strive to reduce the adverse impact of our production and operating activities on the regions where we conduct business;
Article 9 We will work actively to implement environmental management to reduce the impact on employees, communities and surrounding areas.
Article 10 We adhere to the environmental protection principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and adopt the full-lifecycle management method for the environmental protection and ecosystem of the mines to ensure the long-term and continuous environmental management, so as to lay a solid foundation for the future sustainable development of the local environment and continuous improvement of people's livelihood after closure of the mines.
Article 11 Tailings refer to the part of raw ores produced through mineral processing during mining activities that cannot be used for production due to the low content of useful target components. For the purpose of environmental protection and risk control, we have built large-scale facilities for tailings treatment.
To this end, we, adhering to the provisions of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management, always make the safety of tailings facilities a top priority in our operations. We continue to assign technical backbone and formulate professional solutions for the full-lifecycle management of tailings facilities, and put intense efforts into environmental protection in a sustainable way. These measures also include comprehensive utilization of tailings and environmental restoration and improvement after closure of the mines.
Chapter III Supplementary Provisions
Article 12 The right to interpret, supervise, and implement this policy belongs to Shenzhen Yite Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd.
Article 13 This policy shall come into effect from the date of promulgation.
